ANNE CULLUM:  A Journey Through Color, Form, and Texture

Anne Cullum is a contemporary abstract painter who explores themes of personal growth, inner reflection, and spiritual pursuits. Her ideas flow from the nuance of navigating pivotal moments, wrestling with tension, and persistent search for wisdom. Her works invite viewers to confront and reflect upon their own paths of self-discovery, establishing a universal dialogue of resilience, transformation, and hope within the "higher story" of our human experience.

Instinctively, Anne learned to navigate the landscape of adversity and uncertainty from a young age. Early on, she understood art as a vehicle of self-expression and faith as a path to stability and peace. Her artistic interest sparked as a child drawing with her father and was significantly shaped through public programs providing children equal access to visual and performing arts, allowing Anne to encounter beauty and culture otherwise beyond her reach.

Born and raised in Winston-Salem, N.C., Anne's creative endeavors followed her to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2001 and have unfolded ever since. Though her distinctive work became featured among collectors across the United States, despite her professional success, she intentionally paused her career for a season to nurture her young family, confident that her art would always be waiting. Although her hiatus was prolonged by a battle with ovarian cancer, Anne Cullum is now cancer-free, her children are grown, and her return to the art world marks not just a continuation of her journey but a profound evolution. Her work is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the enduring force of art to challenge, inspire, and uplift those who encounter it.
